Mini diálogo

Cliente: Posso avere la ricevuta? Venditore: Certo — ho il registratore di cassa. Un momento. Cliente: Perfetto. Ne ho bisogno per le spese aziendali. Venditore: Le faccio la ricevuta con i dati dell'azienda — mi dia il codice fiscale o la partita IVA.

Customer: Can I have a receipt? Vendor: Of course — I have the cash register. One moment. Customer: Perfect. I need it for business expenses. Vendor: I'll make the receipt with the company details — give me the tax code or VAT number.

Nota cultural

Licensed Italian market vendors ('titolari di licenza ambulante') are required to have a fiscal receipt system. Cash-in-hand without a receipt is technically illegal but informally tolerated for small amounts. Asking protects both you and the honest vendor.
